HARKRADER, Margaret "Margo," 74, of Richmond, Va., passed away surrounded by her family on November 26, 2016. She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret Farrar Duffe and Dr. Paul Edgar Duffe. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Paul Douglas Harkrader Jr.; her three children, Christopher C. Harkrader, Leslie H. Rowe (Steve Rowe) and D. Kyle Harkrader; three grandchildren, Lucy and Andrew Rowe and Genevieve "Gigi" Harkrader, all of Richmond; her brother, Paul Edgar Duffe Jr. (Sis) of Jacksonville, Fla., She was born in Miami, Fla., in 1942 and raised in Jacksonville, Fla....

HARKRADER, Margaret "Margo," 74, of Richmond, Va., passed away surrounded by her family on November 26, 2016. She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret Farrar Duffe and Dr. Paul Edgar Duffe. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Paul Douglas Harkrader Jr.; her three children, Christopher C. Harkrader, Leslie H. Rowe (Steve Rowe) and D. Kyle Harkrader; three grandchildren, Lucy and Andrew Rowe and Genevieve "Gigi" Harkrader, all of Richmond; her brother, Paul Edgar Duffe Jr. (Sis) of Jacksonville, Fla., She was born in Miami, Fla., in 1942 and raised in Jacksonville, Fla. She attended Florida State University and was a member of the Delta Gamma sorority. She was married in 1963 and moved to Richmond. Throughout her life, she was a nurturing and loving presence in the lives of her family and many friends. After her retirement from Richmond Gastroenterology Associates, she enjoyed membership at Tuckahoe Woman's Club, but her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren. Despite her health issues, she was a constant presence in their lives, teaching and nurturing them. She was happiest when her family was happy. She was a wonderful cook whose meals were enjoyed by family and friends. She will also be remembered for her sense of humor, generosity and optimism. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church, 8787 River Road on Friday, December 2, at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow at church. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to the American Lung Association or All Saints Episcopal Church.
